Avec le lancement de l\u2019Elinchrom ONE, Elinchrom s\u2019est associ\u00e9 avec des photographes travaillant sur des projets humanitaires. Aaron Jay Young nous parle de sa passion, son approche et l\u2019histoire autour de son projet.<\/em>

<\/span><\/strong>Elinchrom croit au pouvoir de la photographie. C\u2019est pour cette raison que nous profitons du lancement de l\u2019Elinchrom ONE pour partager le travail de photographes, dont la marque admire l\u2019ex\u00e9cution et l\u2019intention derri\u00e8re. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs un grand privil\u00e8ge de mettre en lumi\u00e8re le projet d\u2019Aaron Jay Young qui utilise son art pour attirer l\u2019attention sur des probl\u00e8mes complexes actuels.

<\/span>Il faut l\u2019avouer : nous avons tous v\u00e9cu des mois difficiles avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e du Covid. Et pendant cette p\u00e9riode, Aaron a captur\u00e9 l\u2019instant, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, les h\u00e9ros de l\u2019h\u00f4pital local qui ont fait face \u00e0 ce virus mortel tout au long de la pand\u00e9mie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LE CONTEXTE DE LA PAND\u00c9MIE\u00a0<\/span>

\u00ab J\u2019ai eu de nombreuses id\u00e9es diff\u00e9rentes pour ce projet, mais comme nous \u00e9tions au milieu de la pand\u00e9mie et que tout le monde traversait cela en m\u00eame temps, je savais que je voulais me concentrer sur cela. Au fil des mois, j\u2019avais vu diff\u00e9rentes vid\u00e9os sur les professionnels de la sant\u00e9 qui \u00e9taient en premi\u00e8re ligne et qui devaient faire face \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de ce virus\u2026 Ils n\u2019avaient pas le luxe de pouvoir d\u00e9battre sur la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de celui-ci ou de participer aux innombrables d\u00e9bats politiques. Ils \u00e9taient occup\u00e9s \u00e0 le vivre, en allant travailler chaque jour et en risquant leur propre vie pour prendre soin des autres. C\u2019est pour cette raison que j\u2019ai voulu les pr\u00e9senter<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

J\u2019ai le d\u00e9sir de permettre \u00e0 tout le monde d\u2019\u00eatre vu et entendu.<\/strong><\/span>

Je veux offrir une plateforme pour les personnes opprim\u00e9es et discrimin\u00e9es, consid\u00e9r\u00e9es par certains comme \u00ab inf\u00e9rieures \u00bb. Je souhaite les capturer de ma mani\u00e8re qui me semble la plus vraie : avec un sentiment d\u2019authenticit\u00e9, de dignit\u00e9 et d\u2019humanit\u00e9. La d\u00e9shumanisation est pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards, que ce soit dans le syst\u00e8me carc\u00e9ral, le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9, ou m\u00eame via le racisme syst\u00e9matique qui impr\u00e8gne chaque institution des Etats-Unis. Je pense que je per\u00e7ois mon travail comme l\u2019antith\u00e8se de cela.<\/span><\/em>

Plut\u00f4t que de d\u00e9shumaniser, je veux humaniser mais \u00e9galement capturer la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 de l\u2019esprit humain. Chaque fois que je travaille sur ce type de projet ou m\u00eame dans mon travail au quotidien, je pense constamment au d\u00e9sir de chaque personne d\u2019\u00eatre vue et entendue. Je pense que nous pouvons tous offrir cette exp\u00e9rience \u00e0 n\u2019importe quelle personne, tout simplement en \u00e9tant pr\u00e9sent avec eux.\u00bb<\/span><\/em>

<\/span>Aaron \u00e9tant l\u2019un des premiers photographes \u00e0 prendre en main l\u2019Elinchrom ONE, la marque a d\u00fb s\u2019interroger sur l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de shooting avec ce nouvel \u00e9clairage pendant la r\u00e9alisation de ce projet.

Le retour d\u2019Aaron a \u00e9t\u00e9 le suivant : \u00ab J\u2019aime la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 et la petite taille de l\u2019Elinchrom ONE. La fa\u00e7on dont nous avons travaill\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9clairage sur ce projet est tr\u00e8s similaire \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont je travaille habituellement. Je m\u00eale souvent lumi\u00e8re naturelle et lumi\u00e8re artificielle, et il est certain que j\u2019utiliserai le ONE pour de futurs projets. \u00bb

THE COVID\u00a0 FRONTLINE HEROES\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the launch of the Elinchrom ONE, we are moved to partner with photographers doing humanitarian personal projects.<\/strong>
Today we catch up with Aaron Jay Young to learn more about his passion, approach, and story behind this project.<\/strong>

At Elinchrom, we believe in the power of photography. For that reason, we chose to view the launch of the Elinchrom ONE as an opportunity to share our platform with photographers whose work we admire not just for the execution but their intent.<\/span>

We view the ability to highlight the work of photographers who use their art to bring attention to complex issues as a great privilege, and Aaron Jay Young is one of those photographers.<\/span>

Let\u2019s face it; it has been a tough year in the wake of Covid. But during this time, Aaron set off to really capture this moment, and more specifically, the heroes within his local hospital that have been working in the face of the deadly virus all throughout the pandemic.

THE PANDEMIC BACKGROUND\u00a0

<\/span>\u00a0\u00bb went through many different ideas for this project, however since we were in the middle of the pandemic and it was something that everybody collectively was going through at the same time I knew I wanted to focus on that.<\/em><\/p>\n

I had seen various different videos throughout the months of healthcare workers who were on the front lines, having to deal with the reality of this virus\u2026 They didn\u2019t have the luxury of debating whether or not it was real or getting into the countless arguments based on politics\u2026 they were busy actually living it, actually showing up every day risking their own lives to care for others.<\/em><\/p>\n

For this reason, I wanted to feature them.<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve got a desire to allow everybody to feel seen and heard.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For me, I\u2019ve got a desire to allow everybody to feel seen and heard. I want to give a platform to people who are oppressed and discriminated against, who some people think of as \u201cless than.\u201d I want to capture them in a way that feels the truest \u2013 with a sense of authenticity, dignity, and humanity.<\/em><\/p>\n

There is an element of dehumanization that occurs in so many ways from our prison system, to the healthcare system, to the systematic racism that permeates through every institution in this country and I guess I see my work as the antithesis to that.<\/em><\/p>\n

Rather than dehumanize I want to not only humanize but capture the tenacity of the human spirit.<\/em><\/p>\n

Every time I do any kind of project like this or even in my daily work I am constantly reminded that every single person has a desire to be seen and to be heard and I am constantly reminded that we can all give this experience to any person at any time simply by being present with them.<\/em><\/p>\n
